Many thanks to the management consultancy Booz – Allen – Hamilton, that provided their office rooms at the Bernheimer Palais for this exhibition of my series “Paris 1789”, “Unsere Gefühle” Iour emotions) and “Unsere Grundbedürfnisse (our basic needs).

Opening: 15 February 2001, 18.00 - 21.00 h

You see, I have chosen a deliberately ambiguous exhibition title here: A simple stringing together of the two verbs “Penser” (thinking) and “Coller” (gluing) or rather “glued thoughts”? In fact, I take the thoughts I have captured in my memory, stick them on the canvas – my attempt to archive time.

I really like to use old materials like newspaper clippings or scores, literary texts, old maps or even cloth or sand as a basis. Especially with historical topics, this results in a first structuring by brain – controlled by my left hemisphere. Next, my right hemisphere steps in to select the appropriate colors to attract the attention of the observer.
Getting involved means first deciphering the historical documents used in collages and then discovering the deeper message for yourself through the respective artistic design.
