Under the title “GAACH – quasi a folk opera” a unique art project was realized for the Munich Music Biennale 2016.
“Gaach” means “steep” according to the Bavarian encyclopaedia and gave its name to the cultural centre “Gasteig” (on the gaachen Steig) in the district of Haidhausen at Munich.
Consequently, the focus of the performances was Haidhausen – geographically, literarily, historically and ethnologically as well as from the personal perspective of the more than 200 participants. The participation project translated the district musically and finally connected the individual parts into a spatial-geographical installation: as “original with subtitles”.
Taking part in the cooperation of the Munich Volkshochschule (MVHS), I worked with MVHS course participants on the “French part” in image and text.
